My friends Donny and Keith have been a part of my life for some time now.  I met Keith
about 13 years ago when we both worked for Home quarters, a home improvement store like
depot and Lowe’s.  He was a manager over a different department from the one I worked in.
Though we did not know one another that well we talked frequently and became good
friends.  I am not sure but I believe I introduced him to Talladega. Keith’s wife Lisa, who also
worked at the same store we did Knew Keith but not really ever thinking they would be a
match like they had come to be.  My wife and I had taken Keith to a race and Lisa to a race
separately and not together at anytime that is until one day after they found each other.
Finding out that they had gotten together was pretty much a mind blower but they fit like a
glove, who would have thought of that.  As the years went by we managed to go to as many
Talladega races as possible together and when they could not make it because of work
schedules we would always at least talk about when we could get together the next time. I
know that Keith liked racing and my wife and I enjoyed his company whenever we could get
the time to spend together and especially at the races. Talladega to us was a big deal as it
is for most race fans, we always tried to make our camping area the biggest and the best
that anyone has ever had. Keith and Lisa had been trying  to make more time to spend
together with each other as well as coming out to see the band play at Venues like Lightning
Strikes Bowling alley in Trussville, Spuds Club in Birmingham, and The Central Club in
Leeds. They like Donny were at the very first Band performance of (4th&One) and were
trying to make a more frequent appearance. We always enjoyed Keiths sense of humor and
dedication to his family and friends.  Donny though I had only known him just a couple of
years really made feel like a brother, He always had a kind word and a way of making
everyone feel comfortable around him. Over the last few months we had become even
closer because he made it a point to tell me how he felt about me and my band mates, Lee,
Richard, Ric and Scott (4th&One). He did this frequently by having things made like stickers,
along with the most incredible thing, A jacket embroidered with the band name and a single
guitar on it, and plastering the name on his camper door (4th&One rock) who does that?
Well he did and he did it out of love for me as his friend and the love for what he wanted
everyone around him to know what was important to him that’s just the way he was. One of
the most positive things he did was to try to spend more time with his Son Tyler, who is a
very fine young man. I finally had the pleasure of meeting him on super bowl Sunday this
year 2006, at Richards house. Donny, Madeleine, Danny and Tyler came over we sat
around watching the game and feeding our faces and just enjoying each other’s company.
Donny wanted Tyler to meet the guys that had made a mark on his life and whom he was
talking about when went to see him up in Tennessee. It was a great day with friends and a
time to remember for sure. Talladega to him as well as myself was and is the two events
every year that we could do to spend more time with each other and all our friends. He
would cook all week long for everybody, always thinking of ways to make our campsite
better all the time. All I can say now is that I have not only lost a friend, but a person who
made my life better just for knowing him. He will always be remembered to me as “my
Brother from another Mother” we always said it to each other and meant it.  I will miss my
friends Donny and Keith forever. But I know that they will be with me all the time and I will
continue to try to keep up our Racing camp because I know that is what they loved as much
as I do, and I believe that they would be angry if we all gave up on it.
I Love You Guys.
